Just go with it!

Well, here we are again and look, it's only been a couple of weeks! Not a whole lot has been going on under our roof - that's a good thing! Everything is starting to wind down as the school year comes to a close and then, we'll enjoy our summer months .. the funny thing is that before summer is even over, I'm usually begging for things to go back to normal, for our routine to be back in place, I like knowing what to expect everyday; But, I am giving it my best to "just go with it" over these next couple of months - I have all the confidence in the world that my kids will keep me on my toes no matter what we have going on! I'm excited to start our summer "to do" list - we have a few big things we want to do and a whole lot of not so big things we're looking forward to, it's going to be fun!

Here's something: of all the animals Abby could choose from, she asked us to get her a chipmunk for her birthday!? What!? Let me clarify something - we have no intention on getting her a new pet, let alone a chipmunk! Where she even got this idea is beyond me - I have been racking my brain to think of all the things we have seen and watched that gave her the idea that this would be something good to ask for, and nothing. That's the beauty of a 4 year old, they don't have to get an idea from something, they just get ideas and go with it! I think it's funny - thinking of her request makes me smile :)  Abby asks for a lot of things and what I find funny is that she is perfect willing to wait for her birthday or Christmas to come along - which is a good 7 month away - to get these things. I just love her! And, in case you're wondering, she is still very much interested in marrying David when she grows up and doesn't understand why he won't just accept her proposal - ha! We asked him why he wouldn't just tell her "yes" to avoid a complete meltdown followed by a series of questions of "why, how come, but I love you David", etc ... his response? That it's just plain gross!

Speaking of the birds and the bees, David came home from school last week with a permission slip to see a movie about the male/female reproductive system. Now, he knows very little about any of his stuff with the exception of things here and there that he picks up from Cody. Because of this, it surprises me that he is dying to see the movie!? What has he been told???? I told him I would talk to his dad about it and let him know - he has asked me everyday since then! When I finally gave him the green light and signed his slip, he held onto it for the rest of the day - I am not kidding. He wouldn't let his mom autographed paper out of his sight! I'm a little concerned about his excitement and have decided to find an age appropriate book on the male reproductive system - we think it is our responsibility to teach him about this stuff. That way, when he goes to school to see the movie, he'll know what to expect and maybe he'll even be able to brag about it! Ha!

And now to my youngest, poor little thing has been running a fever all day. We have already made a trip to see her doctor earlier this week, but we were told whatever she had was nothing .. so, we called again today and the doctor told us to give her the weekend to see what she does. I have been unsuccessful at getting her to break her fever - she started at 104 and she has managed to get it down to 100.5, but she is still so hot! With the other two, they can at least tell us what's going on. With Molly, it's a guessing game and if she is still like this in the morning, we will be visiting an after hours place. Aside from that, she is good - using more and more words which we absolutely love!! It's hard to believe she'll be turning 3 this year - makes me a little sad especially because I'm pretty sure she is the last for us .. oh well. I enjoy watching her grow and learn new things :) Lately, we have been talking with the kids about what they want to be when they grow up. David says he's going to be a chef, at least for now he is .. Abby wants to be a mommy - she said she is going to college to learn how to be the best kind of mommy she can be. I asked her if she wanted to do something else, like be a doctor and she told me "no, that's too boring" - ha! We're not sure about Molly, but I would put money on her being a veterinarian or someone that works with animals - we shall see! I'm not rushing it :)

I swore I was going to get in bed early tonight, right after I watched a chick flick - I didn't do either of those! Oh well, there's always tomorrow for that ..
